This is a first pass at automatic function logging, replacing haphazard "manual" function logging in some functions.
Keeping this draft for now as I think the format of the messaging could be improved, plus there are some logging that does not use rgt_logging. These may require more substantial refactoring of code, so this maybe should wait until that is complete or a later version.
