Color transitions flickery and not as smooth.

Hello everyone.

In my ambient lighting journey, I first started with some dupont wires and a bigger ESP32 (Wemos D1 Mini). And everything was working great.

I didn't like the hassle of these cables though, So I ordered the ESP D1 Mini from Tenstar and soldeded everything for a more reliable connection.

While everything works, I've noticed the transitions aren't as smooth as before, no matter what I changed in the smoothing, it didn't seem to help.

Any suggestions?

bootloader is already damaged? proceed with the recovery firmware (pay attention to different address for recovery firmware than standard HyperSerial firmware).

Okay so using the esptool-win64, I first flashed your recovery img to 0x0.
Then I flashed the right bin to 0x10000.

I set the adalight connection up, and hyper hdr detects it:

Blue light on my ESP turns on, but the leds don't.

Tried flashing WLED back and the leds turn orange as they should so I don't know why my HyperHDR is unable to control the leds?

do you have ws2812b LEDs? what is in the logs when you turn off LED device in remote tab after playing some effect? I remind that HyperSerialESP32 is using GPIO2 by default.

Last question, I've calibrated my led strips using the color calibration option, can I just leave the settings like white channel limit red white aspect etc as default?

And I disconnected the 5v cable as you said, but left the ground. This is safe?

white color channel is only for sk6812 RGBW, you can leave it on default or disable calibration: cold or neutral firmware use its own settings for these options even without calibration enabled, especially neutral firmware quite heavy modifies white channel to make a white/grays color look less yellow.
