Some tabs show "Connecting" as title forever.

Do you have using my Fixed release, or just the original version?

I am using the Fixed Release.

I am aware that this bug was already in the original version. It was one of the reasons I stopped using it. I started using your version today and the "connecting" tabs reappeared.

It is often happens? the tab's loading icon has left?
If possible, try to use a clean profile to reproduce it, with TU Fixed only. I have never seen it again now.

Hard to say. I encountered the problem several times shortly after installing TU fixed. But in the last hour everything was ok. Perhaps it was just an hiccup?!

I'll look into it and keep you posted.

It happens very rarely and seems to be very site specific. I happen to find a website, where it occurs very reproducibly: www.rtdeutsch.com . I will be looking for others :-)

PS: I disabled all other addons.

I can confirm, that website does indeed still show the problem for me as well. I have still yet to see the problem with any of my regular sites to date.

... AND of course within minutes of posting this, I saw it happen with one of my regular sites. (Local newspaper website)

But I can't reproduce it, with a clean Fx35.0.1 + TU Fixed 2015.02.19-2 + http://www.rtdeutsch.com/ or http://www.post-gazette.com/sports...

@irvinm Thanks, I'm not crazy! ;-)
@yfdyh000
On my Windows 7 machine I created a new user, installed TU Fixed on Fx and could reproduce it.
(On my Ubuntu machine I could not reproduce it!)

I still do not see a clear pattern but it is definitely site specific. Sometimes it takes a while with the tab just opened or reloading the page in the tab. Going back and forth on the site also "helps".

E.g. I just loaded http://www.post-gazette.com/ , clicked on sports, everything ok. Back to the main page. "connecting". After that when I create a new tab and load the main page, "connecting" occurs immediately.

I found other sites (Yes, I'm German ;-) ):

http://www.motorsport-total.com
http://www.bild.de/

Ok, I think I found a relevant piece of information. I went back over to FF (I usually use Cyberfox x64), upgraded to FF 36, and ran only TU Fixed with 2 sites I was having the problem with. Neither exhibited the problem. I set the the tabs to refresh every 30 seconds and watched the tab text behavior. It was clear that the refresh and dynamic content were both working as I could see "Connecting..." often as things were being loaded but it always resulted in the title being displayed properly.

I thought about what was different and immediately thought about "Adblock Plus" and "NoScript" as potential offenders. I started by adding "Adblock Plus" and redid the test. BAM! The problem showed itself. It looks (for me) that there is a problem between the 2 add-ons. Both work fine by themselves, but together we get this title problem. (I would guess that some load is initiated, blocked by ABP, and the title never returned to the original.)

Given that ABP works fine (including titles) when TU Fixed is disabled, I would still request we try to figure a solution to this. Is there any way to leave the tab title and not show "Connecting..."? That way, if something is blocked, it doesn't matter if it isn't updated and the original text is displayed. Just an idea ... ABP is obviously intended to block ADS, but I guess it is possible it blocks more by accident on certain sites.

The 2 sites I tested and reshowed the problem with TU Fixed and ABP are:

Unfortunately, even though I can reproduce a continuous loading state (a no response host in a img tag), but it have a dynamic loading icon on tab, and does not involve ABP or TU Fixed.

I really could not reproduce the stuck "Connecting..." text on tab and no loading icon via the above websites or after a tab loading completed so far, including just test on Firefox 35 + TU Fixed 2015.02.19-2 + Adblock Plus 2.6.7 (EnglishList) in a clean profile...

I made a quick video of all the steps I took to reproduce the situation in case there was any differences in how we set things up. I did notice that if you did not download the ABP subscriptions after the initial download the problem doesn't occur. This make sense as there isn't any active filtering going on without the filter data.

The video is 3:24 long (I tried to do it quickly) and I hope it helps a little.

Thank you to the YouTube video.

A good news, I have successfully reproduce the problem on my computer after solving a confounding factors. I will follow the relevant code and causes.
