I have many MPPTs connected to my solar panels and read the values from them. When there is no sun, all MPPTs are turned off and you can't read any value from them of course. Nothing strange. In HA, their status becomes "unknown" and all sensor values are non-numeric. I use modern-circular-gauge to present interesting parameters but when the value is non-numeric, there are problems, errors are displayed.
My wish would be that if MPPT is "unknown", set the value to numeric "0" instead on all sensors. Diagnostics can be as they are since they are not numeric anyway.
Proper usage

I've investigated this approach in the past, but this is not a suitable solution. Some values should not go to 0 (ex. total energy, temperature). Keeping the last known value also proved to be a poor solution.
The integration correctly reports what it sees: the sensors are unavailable on the inverter, as they cannot be queried. I'm not going to change the correct behavior of the integration because there are downstream issues due to poor configuration/poor support for checking for availability of a sensor.
