how can i set gradient overlay to my image?

This isn’t currently supported, but it’s a good idea. A quick search brought me to this which might be a good starting point.

I imagine the function would be called gradient and it would work like fill, except with two or more colors and an angle argument. Bonus points if it supports opacity as well.

Anyone want to take a stab at it?
