Failed Build of Recent Main Branch

Hi. I've attempted to follow the build process documented in the following:
build prep
and
build process

My build fails at
ninja -j3

The failure seems to occur when "grpc_tools" are being built.

I cloned ceph on thursday of this past week.

As an aside, I'd have tried to post this to the ceph users list, however for some odd reason the GNU Mailman does not seem to want to confirm my email address.

My build environment is a virtual machine loaded with ubuntu
